David Blaine’s ‘Above the Below’
Continental Drifts were the event management team selected
for this high profile event featured on International television
and visited by over 100,000 people.
Continental Drifts were employed directly for this unique event
by BSkyB and took on a varied role that incorporated emergency
and safety planning, sourcing all equipment and event crew and
liaison with relevant authorities. As well as this our team worked
alongside David’s personal management team and the broadcast
team to ensure everything was in place for the 2 main live broadcasts
of David entering and leaving the box. This event was more successful
than anyone had envisaged and we had to constantly re-assess
our plan’s as the event grew more and more successful.
The finale event attracted over 20,000 people and entailed the
closing of Tower Bridge and the installation of several large
LED screens to allow the vast crowds to see what was happening.
The event was a huge success.
‘Thank-you so much for all your hard work. It was a pleasure
to work with you and the huge success of the event was largely
down to your excellent management’.

Ariel Tennis Ace Finale
The grand finale of the Ariel Tennis Ace Tour, Britain’s biggest ever search for young tennis talent on behalf of Hill and Knowlton and Ariel, the Ariel Tennis Ace finale is a prime example of how even the most challenging creative can become a reality. (More info) For maximum impact Hill and Knowlton and Ariel requested that a real turf tennis court be installed in Trafalgar Square for the finalists and tennis celebrities Tim Henman and Boris Becker to play a game in front of the national media. The installation of such a court in such a high profile location was an event first, and needed a dedicated a team of production staff over the course of a month prior to the event to carry out site visits, contract specialist suppliers and attend a sequence of production meeting with H&K.
Co-ordinating the event involved all aspects of production on the day, staying on site for a total of 24 hours to manage the build, running of the event and breakdown. Working in liaison with the H&K media team, the project generated an immense amount of media coverage.
“What can we say…except THANKYOU! Really, thank
you for being our brilliant events partner. We very much appreciated
your calmness throughout and ‘nothing is impossible’ attitude.
Thanks for helping us create a tennis court on Trafalgar Square
when lots around us said it couldn’t be done”
